The program’s two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.We are seeking a Field Engineer to perform technical planning and execution of deployment, sustainment, troubleshooting, and repair of complex Radio Frequency (RF) systems, in support of satellite transportation and processing operations.Summary of Key Duties for this position: You will perform/supervise RF system and equipment operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Oversee work in progress and review completed repairs for sound maintenance practices. Establish requirements for maintenance equipment, support equipment, tools, and spare parts. Author technical procedures, and review and ensure compliance with requirements. You will resolve installation, repair, overhaul, and modification problems associated with RF equipment. Determine and execute repair procedures necessary to correct defective equipment. Conduct tests to restore and maintain systems. Use operating characteristics, layout drawings, schematics, and pictorial diagrams to solve maintenance problems and determine sources of malfunction. You will identify maintenance problem areas and recommend corrective action. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures. Evaluate justification and practicability of proposed modifications. Develop and enforce safety standards for ground RF system maintenance activities. You will develop processing schedules and Powerpoint Charts that may include equipment preparations, operational tasks, and sustainment activities. Identify conflicts during the processing flow and recommend solutions. Ability to work in a launch site environment, with the ability to climb stairs and evacuate the launch complex wearing breathing apparatus, if required. Willing and able to support working extended shifts, weekends, odd start times and night shift, as well as periodic travel (up to 30 days at a time) to support mission required operations. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to possess and maintain TS/SCI Clearance w/ PolyDesired Skills:Desired Skills: Current experience or understanding of high value, complex RF Detection Systems and satellite processing operations within an industrial or commercial environment.
