JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Inpatient Cook works with the Chef and the interdisciplinary team. The Cook will prepare meals according to all health and safety standards and dietary requirements of the patients. The Cook will ensure that meals are prepared according to Dietary recommendations. Respects and promotes the mission, vision, and values of VNA Health.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIESPrepares meals according to all health and safety standards, in accordance with licensing requirements and Dietary recommendations.
Works with interdisciplinary team to provide meals that satisfy the terminally ill patient.
Help assure that patient’s food preferences are adhered to as much as possible; and substitutes for all food refused shall be from appropriate food groups.
Maintains accurate records of refrigeration.
Cleans and maintains a safe kitchen environment, equipment, and all patient food utensils and items.

Understanding of the nutritional needs of the terminally ill.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well individually and in cooperation with an interdisciplinary group.
Basic working knowledge and skill of computers (email) required.
