Working With Surgeon, Dr. Barry SanchezThe primary role of the Bariatric Coordinator is to ensure proper coordination of patient care beginning with the evaluation for acceptance to the program. Responsible for oversight of the surgical, post-surgical and discharge phases of patient care, including patient and family teaching. Serve as the primary liaison between Anacapa Surgical (VCMC) and the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSA-QIP). Responsible for managing, submitting, and successfully meeting all criteria of the annual report to MBSA-QIP in order to uphold program accreditation and excellence in bariatric nursing services.
Additionally good IV skills/management for the hydration Clinic for the Bariatric patients. Manage ad hock Audits and supervision of 1 MA and 1 LVN.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current CA Registered Nurse License
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Five (5) years of acute care nursing experience
Preferred:
Three (3) years of Bariatric nursing experience
Two (2) years of experience in Quality and Performance Improvement
Two (2) years of experience working with the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MSAQIP)
Certified Bariatric Nurse (CBN)
Electronic Medical Records (Cerner)
Microsoft suite
Bilingual in Spanish (required)
