Seneca's Ventura County Crisis Services program offers a spectrum of behavioral health care crisis services to support youth and their families. These services provide safe refuge for young people who have experienced profound mental health needs including psychiatric evaluation or hospitalization. Services include crisis stabilization and short-term acute residential treatment, as well as transition and planning services to return youth to a setting in the community with stability.

The Awake Overnight Crisis Counselor provides crisis support for youth entering the 23-hour Assessment Center. Counselors will provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth that come into the program, and will intervene as necessary to assist the youth in stabilizing. Support counselors will also assist the Assessment Clinician with case management duties as appropriate.Seneca Family of Agencies is committed to providing traditionally marginalized communities a network of outstanding mental health, community based, and educational services. Responsibilities:

Assist the clinician with the intake process, including assessment and creating a welcoming environment for the youth

Provide stabilization services for youth that include individualized intervention, safety planning, behavioral intervention and coping skills education

Work closely with parents and/or social workers as treatment team members, and help social workers prepare a treatment plan

Engage the youth in therapeutic activities and projects

Provide supervision for visits with family when necessary

Participate in weekly supervision

Maintain accurate and timely documentation and paperwork

Intervene with the clients' behavior modification programs as needed. This includes physical management of clients (implementing of Seneca's Equilibrium Training) as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Must be at least 21 years of age

Bilingual Spanish/English abilities a plus

Valid California drivers license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy

Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements

Ability to work as a team player and with a diverse population

Schedule:

Full-Time position with 2 schedule options:

Option 1: Friday-Sunday 7pm - 7:30am and 24-hour On-Call Wedesnday's

Option 2: Wednesday-Friday 7pm - 7:30am and 24-hour On-Call Sunday's
