SUMMARY: The School-Based Services Clinical Supervisor is the primary supervisor for staff and provides supervision to a minimum of three unlicensed staff, including trainees, associates and practicum students. Therapy is focused on healing mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, problems in the parent-child relationship, or other social-emotional challenges with the ultimate goal of restoring children and families to a healthy level of functioning, including positive academic outcomes. The supervisor will meet weekly with the supervisee and provide clinical and administrative oversight. This will include monitoring of client caseload, clinical interventions, crisis management, and review of documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The Clinical Supervisor will document supervision meetings and provide timely review and approval of supervisee clinical documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Creates a treatment plan with measurable and observable goals in collaboration with supervisor, client, teachers, school administrators and parents or family members.

-Participates in completion of clinical assessment with clients to assess their strengths and needs.

-Provides developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and families in individual, group or family settings

-Coordinates with other therapists, consultants, and partners to implement treatment plan, when appropriate.

-Works with teachers, aides, school site staff, and other professionals in the classroom.

-Coaches teachers on targeted behavior interventions.

-Models appropriate interactions with children and adolescents.

-Provides reflective practice groups for teachers, as needed.

-Supports teachers and staff in restorative approaches.

-Assists teachers in parent conferences and other meetings.

-Organizes and provides trainings for teachers, administrators, school staff, and parents.

-Maintains confidentiality of all information.

-Maintains a minimum of 60% documentable clinical time.

-Meets Medi-cal documentation standards for Supervisors and Note Reviewers (including attending all required County trainings).

-Reviews supervisee documentation for approval in a timely manner.

-Completes all agency required documentation, including progress notes and assessments, in a timely manner and according to agency policy and best practice.

-Meets Board requirements of 6-hour supervision training each licensure cycle.

-Attends trainings and conferences on supervision and clinical related topics

-Provides weekly individual and group supervision to licensed, unlicensed therapists and para-professional staff.

-Other duties as assigned, that pertain to the position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

-LCSW, MFT, from an accredited university or college, with a license for a minimum of two years, or Licensed Psychologist who meet the requirements to supervise clinical staff required.

-2 – 3 years experience working with complex issues surrounding children and families in a behavior health agency preferred

-1 – 2 years of supervisory experience. Experience working with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Model or Mental Health Consultation knowledge preferred.

-Experience working in the nonprofit sector and training in Medi-Cal documentation standards highly desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Must have valid CA drivers’ license, clean DMV, reliable transportation, and criminal record clearance from DOJ.

-Ability to interact with all ages and cultural backgrounds.

-Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

-Must be able to provide proof of Measles vaccination of a Titer showing immunity, Pertussis vaccination in the last 10 years, and TB test within the last 4 years.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a full time position. A 40 hour work week schedule will be established on consultation with the supervisor, evening and weekend hours may apply. The normal work week is Monday – Friday. Normal hours of work will be established between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm.
