Worth the drive to Malibu! Pepperdine University is looking for friendly, enthusiastic, vigilant, and responsible people to serve as campus dispatchers and public safety officers in Malibu, CA. Positions include full medical and dental benefits for you and your immediate family, child care subsidies for eligible employees, tuition discounts, and uniform dry cleaning. These full time positions provide a consistent, 40-hours per week on a 4/10 schedule.
Public Safety Officers screen persons and vehicles entering University grounds; provide general information to the public; observe and report any criminal acts; provided a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all entering the campus, enforce state and local laws and University rules as directed; assist in maintaining traffic control as needed; complete building security checks; foot/vehicle patrols; report writing; requests for service; emergency response; and perform other related duties as assigned. Pay is $16.83 per hour.
Dispatchers manage emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information, address problems and requests by coordinating available resources and providing solutions. Accurately track, monitor, and document officers' activities during their shift, and perform other duties as assigned. Pay is $17.33 per hour.
High school diploma or GED required. It is not uncommon to start out working on the overnight shift, but all shifts may be available. Must possess a valid driver's license, a demonstrated good driving history, and able to pass a background check if offered a position.
