Marysville Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time (32-40 hours/week) Registered Veterinary Technician (or Experienced Veterinary Assistant) and a Kennel Assistant to join our highly respected, ever-growing, small animal practice!
RVT/Vet Assistant: Veterinary technicians must have a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses. They must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures.
Kennel Assistant: This is a great entry-level position with opportunity for growth. Primary responsibilities will include day-to-day care of animals in boarding, assisting veterinarian or technician in restraint and treatment of patients in a variety of situations including but not limited to radiology, surgical procedures, and vaccine administration and cleaning and restocking all areas of the hospital. Must have the dexterity and confidence to administer medications, and the ability to monitor pets for signs of distress or disease.
The ideal team member is a professional, people-oriented, team player, who possesses excellent communication, leadership and client service skills. Candidates must have the physical strength and ability to stand for an entire shift when needed, and be able to lift pets and objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be punctual, reliable, and have flexible availability.
