The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing nursery greenhouse mechanical equipment. Must be able to satisfactorily perform job assignments with minimal supervision and be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers and complete maintenance, repair records and estimate costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities for the position include the items listed below. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Possesses the ability to repair all nursery greenhouse mechanical equipment.
Is able to utilize diagnostic and test equipment to diagnose equipment malfunctions properly.
Possesses knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
Has an understanding theory of operations and properly diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Communicates with coworkers and user departments to provide maintenance services for the nursery.
Keeps maintenance records on all Nursery maintenance equipment.
Has the ability to weld and operate the cutting torch.
Adheres to safety and security standards.
A high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in equipment maintenance.
