Serve as the campus authority on all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-related issues; ensure compliance with the ADA on the CU Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus; provide information, expertise, leadership and guidance to the campus on disability-related issues.

Ensure compliance with Title I of the ADA by overseeing employment accommodation process, including review of determinations and implementation of accommodations.

Ensure compliance with Title II of the ADA and corresponding provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and relevant state law.

Provide input to on-going training and education to campus employees and departments.

Investigate and address complaints related to the university’s Anti-Violence, Bullying and Whistleblower/Retaliation and related policies. Serve as a primary investigator for these investigations involving allegations against faculty and/or employees

Research, develop and present training on University policy and complaint process related to the ADA interactive process.

Conduct preliminary intake and interviews in a timely and impartial manner; assess complaint; evaluate risk factors and refer parties to other services for safety and counseling as needed.

Oversee case management/tracking system.

Salary and Benefits:The hiring salary range for this position has been established at up to $80,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

3 years of professional level experience conducting investigations, writing fact finding reports.

2 years of experience as an ADA Coordinator including practical experience with the interactive process regulations, and case law.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate, Master’s or Professional Level Degree in a related field from and accredited institution.

Experience in Higher Education, or civil rights/equal opportunity field.

3 years of experience conducting investigations.

Formal ADA certification.

Experience in training others in conducting investigations.

Experience implementing case tracking systems.

Competencies:

In-depth knowledge or ADA (Title I, II and III) and other statutes and rules addressing the rights of individuals with disabilities including but not limited to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, 29 U.S.C Section 794.

Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Outstanding customer service skills.

Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
