Read CU Anschutz Quick Facts here.Nature of Work:DAWN is an interdisciplinary student-run free clinic that serves uninsured patients from the Aurora community.Our goals areto provide the best healthcare possible to our neighbors in need, and to provide an opportunity for University of Colorado students to collaborate with and learn from each other while serving the community surrounding the Anschutz Medical Campus. The clinic was created as a joint venture between the Fields Foundation and Primary Care Progress.The DAWN Coordinator will facilitate the day-to-day management of the clinic, working with the Executive Team to address patient needs, ensure the fiscal viability of the clinic, and oversee and support the student work groups and volunteer clinical faculty that perform work at the DAWN Clinic.Examples of Work Performed:

Clinic Management:

Provides real time service to internal and external customers during business hours.

Manages the scheduling of volunteer preceptors and students to ensure adequate coverage in the clinic.

Prioritizes clinical communications and works with the Executive Team and student workgroups to address patient needs, including:

o Calls from outside providers (lab, pharmacies, offices, clinics or hospitals).o Ensuring clinical questions from existing patients are transmitted to clinician on call.o New patient referrals.o Appointment requests (new and existing patients).o Refill requests.o Records requests.Student and Volunteer Management:

Develops, implements and maintains streamlined processes for the best practices in the recruiting, onboarding and credentialing of new volunteers and medical students.

Sources, recruits and assesses volunteers and determines the best workgroup placement based on their area of expertise and interests.

Facilitates appointments for Coordinates with workgroup leaders to ensure the effective onboarding and retention of volunteers.

Responsible for all functions pertaining to the onboarding, credentialing and ongoing management of students and volunteer faculty, including:

o Generating communication with potential volunteers to support recruitment and onboarding.o Facilitating new volunteer paperwork and maintaining volunteer appointment files, reappointments, and handling general inquiries for MD/PA/NPs as well as dentists, pharmacists, nurses and physical therapists as preceptors.o Accurately maintaining the volunteer information database and the DAWN organizational chart.o Processing onboarding tasks for EMR access.Financial coordination and management

Responsible for procurement and purchasing as well as assisting with financial reporting for various programs within DAWN, adhering to both University and 501(c)(3) guidelines.

Manages procurement, purchasing, reimbursements, and payments to grantees and subcontractors, and assists Executive Team with financial reporting.

Handles technical budget detail matters, such as estimating/forecasting budget needs; assisting with preparing budget documents; overseeing compliance with budget guidelines; recommending adjustments to remain within overall budget limitations; and interpreting budget materials, guidelines and processes.

Program Support:

Independently manages projects and assignments and facilitates communication between parties for operational projects within the organization.

Independently identifies projects that may not be on track or for which due dates are approaching. Sends reminders, schedules meeting to address issues, takes initiative to implement processes to prevent compromised customer service or missed deadlines. Improves program operational efficiency through organization, increased communication, dissemination of information, application of work standards, and tracking mechanisms.

Provides executive-level support to DAWN. Prioritizes duties and balances all the needs of the organization to ensure an efficient administrative service delivery system and adherence to program guidelines. Serves as a liaison on administrative issues with internal and external customers, including student leaders.

Responsible for scheduling meetings, calendar coordination and meeting attendance, including calendar management for the executive team and coordinating meetings for DAWN.

Drafts and proofscorrespondence, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and updates and maintains the DAWN website.

Salary and Benefits:The hiring salary for this position has been established at $47,000 - $50,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. A bachelor’s degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

Two (2) years of professional level experience in an academic or healthcare environment, with an emphasis on customer service and day-to-day business operations.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.Condition of Employment:

Must be willing and able to speak Spanish and English on a daily basis, serving as an interpreter between patients and providers, and vice versa.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with students and faculty within a higher education environment.

Experience with data collection, analysis and report creation
