Description

The US Air Force is procuring a critical and complex Space and Ground system to meet operational and tactical collection needs not currently met with airborne and surface deployed sensors. This program emphasizes rapid schedule and complex interfaces. The system design involves schedule automation, challenging collection and processing timelines, and ad-hoc tasking. The specified system is unique compared with traditional, overhead remote sensing programs. SAIC is the Systems Integrator for this complex program.

SAIC is looking for

Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers with technical expertise in major space systems. This position is in

Chantilly, VA or Aurora, CO and requires an

active TS clearance.

This contract oversees flight hardware assembly, integration and test. If you have experience in

Quality Assurance, Software Auditing, System Safety, and/or overall Mission Assurance in a space related industry, this exciting, opportunity will give you a front row seat on a new program that is literally just getting off the ground.

The following tasks are representative of MA tasks; you should have experience in at least one area:
  • Overseeing software developed in an agile environment
  • Conducting or participating in CMMI SCAMPI Appraisals
  • Participating in Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), Corrective/ Preventive Action Boards, and Failure Review Boards
  • Supporting the ongoing development of mission assurance process
  • Providing expert technical knowledge across machining, electronic fabrication, chemical processing, inspection techniques, assembly and integration, destructive/nondestructive testing, production management, Quality Assurance (QA), and Parts, Material and Processes (PM&P)
  • Providing System Critical Item List (CIL) and prepare System Reliability Allocations, Assessments, and Analysis Reports
  • Reviewing System safety and availability reports
  • Supporting unit manufacturing reviews from a QA and PM&P perspective, as needed
  • Providing support to anomaly investigations
  • Providing technical evaluation of Mission Assurance efforts in engineering change proposals

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience

Clearance Requirements:
  • Current TS clearance, TS/SCI preferred

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering science discipline related technical field or 4 years additional years' experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience developing Mission Assurance Plans
  • Experience supporting unit manufacturing reviews
  • Familiarity with government MA standards


Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
