Position Available: Service Technician
Ocean First is a Boulder-based swim, dive, and travel company whose mission is to create and support a community of ocean enthusiasts who are passionate about experiencing and preserving our marine environments. Position
We are currently seeking a part or full-time Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be ready to dive right in, wants to make a positive difference in the world, and is not afraid to ask questions. They will be experienced in servicing gear from a variety of scuba manufacturers. Our primary lines include Aqua Lung, Mares, and Atomic, but technicians can be cross-trained if needed. The Service Tech must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and embrace the logistical challenges of teaching classes and servicing equipment in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. They will have the ability to interact constructively with staff, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and customer service. Good written and verbal communication skills, comfort with acquiring new skills, strong decision-making ability, problem-solving, and attention to detail are equally important.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, legs and feet, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand most of the time, but also walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects, including scuba tanks (50 lbs). Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus (corrective vision is ok). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The Service Tech is an integral part of the Ocean First brand. Roles Include:
⢠Completing necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accurately.
⢠Assisting Service Department with equipment check-in and check-out.
⢠Adhering to Ocean First code of conduct and safety procedures and SSI standards at all times.
⢠Performing inspections, gear cleanings, and regulator and BCD servicing for relevant scuba manufacturers.

Preference will be given to candidates who:
⢠Have previous service experience
⢠Have current PSI credentials
⢠Demonstrate emotional intelligence and a desire to do meaningful work
Compensation: Starting at $18/hr (salaried position available for F/T)
