Summary
- As a shop hand at Truman Barber Co, a high traffic barbershop in the center of Boulder, your main job will be to make sure the barbershop is running smoothly. You will have the opportunity to work on your feet, in a fun, fast paced environment, constantly interacting with people.
- Need to be a high energy, extravert that enjoys people, conversation, always being on your feet in a high paced environment.
- Need to be polite, well mannered, enjoy making people happy, and good at multitasking.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers - politely and help them find their barber, or help them schedule/guide them to our website
- Manage the music in the shop, we play only vinyl in the shop on our record player so you will need to flip records and pick whatâs playing
- Manage waiting customers:
- Make sure the barber knows they are here
- Make sure they are comfortable
- If the barber is running behind, make sure to let the customer know how long they will wait, and if that is ok.
- If they are really running late, rush the barber
- Help checkout guests, send them away with a big smile and help them find hair/beard products if interested
- Always ask barbers what they might need
- Do coffee, and lunch runs when appropriate
- Sweep hair after every guest
- Keep the shop clean and organized
- Make sure bathrooms are always presentable - no hair around sink and toilets, paper towels stocked, toilet paper stock etc.
- Make sure there are always warm towels in towel warmer (see manager on how to do)
- Make sure there are always dry folded towels (see manager on how to do)
