Early Childhood Education Teacher (South Boulder)

Vacancy expired!

Homestar Child Development Center is looking for experienced, warm, and playful teachers to join our amazing small and loving team. We have three classrooms: Infant, Toddler & Preschool. The preschool is a mixed-age group (2.5 to 5 years) classroom for an average of 20 children daily. Homestar provides play-based learning experiences that honor and respect the ways young children learn. Teachers provide opportunities and model language and behavior that helps children learn how to manage emotions, develop friendships, and communicate feelings and needs, creating a connected classroom community. We believe that early childhood is a time to focus on social and emotional development. The philosophy emphasizes the importance of play and discovery for young children as well as an orientation toward nature and the natural world and the health of the physical body. We support this by spending ample time outside both morning and afternoon. Our older preschoolers go hiking every week year-round, exploring the Boulder trails and mountain parks, and our younger children visit the nearby neighborhood park for their outing. Organic homemade meals and snacks are prepared every day by our full-time cook, underscoring the importance of good nutrition. We are looking for a preschool teacher as well as a floater teacher, whom "floats" between all three classrooms helping everybody.
