We have multiple openings for this position on our beautiful campus in sunny Boulder, Colorado. This position works no evening or weekend hours, and receives excellent benefits including paid vacation and sick leave, medical, dental and life insurance, paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement! Medical Assistants provide comprehensive health care, education and customer service to include primary care, gynecological and transgender services primarily to the student population. May include care of CU Boulder faculty, staff and their dependents and on urgent occasions, treatment to injured or ill University visitors. Position provides team based support to providers, improves efficiency and productivity to Medical Services. This position assists the provider (Physician/APN) to aide in clinic flow, productivity and continuity of care to patients and CU Boulder community.Who We AreWardenburg Health Services staff understands and is committed to the unique health concerns of our student population, making us an unparalleled source of advocacy for student wellness at CU Boulder. The Wardenburg Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including, but not limited to: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeProvider Support, Patient Care, and Customer Service

Interview patient for primary complaint, obtain appropriate vital signs and document pertinent medical history in the Electronic Medical Record during the patient intake process.

This includes historical data collection of previous allergies; updating patient’s medication list, significant medical history, patient's family medical history and learning barriers.

Charge and chart for all procedures, treatments and medications given by the HCT.

The HCT 1 implements provider's plan of treatment for patients of all ages primarily late adolescent and early adulthood population.

Assist in direct patient care procedures, gives prescribed medications and immunizations.

Call in prescriptions and complete prior authorizations as assigned.

Assist nurses and providers during procedures based upon competencies in Medical Services.

Once oriented to front office may also be asked to be responsible for front office duties on a rotating basis.

The HCT is familiar with the location of the crash cart and is available to assist the RN and Provider staff in a code situation as delegated by an RN or provider.

Stock the exam rooms on a daily and as needed basis including infection prevention and cleaning of the rooms between patients.

Point of Care

Perform POC tests on patients on a regular basis.

Competency tests will be done once a year to keep compliant with CLIA regulations.

Document tests in the EMR to reflect correct charting and charging for any POC test being performed.

EMR Documentation

Document and charge the EMR of all procedures, POC, treatments and medications given.

To keep in compliance with AAAHC, Health Care Tech I will randomly audit Health Care Tech 1 charts 2 times per year.

High School diploma or GED.

Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution by date of hire and eligibility to obtain and Medical Assistant registration/certification within six months of hire.

BLS certificate (upon hire or can be obtained within three months of hire).

Active Medical Assistant registration or certification such as:

Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT),

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of current membership from National Health career Association (NHA)

National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT)
