Be a part of one of the best CSAs in Boulder County! The CSA Manager is the face of Red Wagon for our CSA members. CSA members experience at CSA pickups is in large part their experience with our farm. We are looking for someone who is friendly, organized, and has the ability to work under pressure. Preference will be given to candidates who may be available for more than one season due to the amount of training and responsibility required for this role.

Hours and Duties:

We will train the Assistant CSA Manager from mid-May through early August. You would then take over all the duties of the CSA Manager starting in August through the end of October as our current CSA Manager will be departing in August. You must be able to work the entire season through early November.

May through early August

Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Attend CSA pickups in the afternoon/evening (working under the supervision of the CSA Manager). Ideally, youd also come to work at the farm starting at 9 am, but this is flexible. 2:30 “ 7:30 are the required times for these days.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am to 8 pm. You will be responsible for all aspects of CSA without supervision from the CSA Manager. Prepare for CSA pickups at the farm in the morning. Manage and attend CSA pickups in the afternoon/evening.

Fridays 6:00 to 3:30 pm. You have the option to work as part of our farm crew in the field if youd like additional hours. This is often desirable to learn more about the produce and also interact with members of our farm crew.

August through October

Monday through Thursday 9 am to 8 pm. You will take over all duties of the CSA Manager. This includes all scheduling, paperwork, and other administrative duties. You will prepare for CSA pickups at the farm in the morning then manage and attend CSA pickups in the afternoon/evening.

Fridays 6:00 to 3:30 pm. You have the option to work as part of our farm crew in the field if youd like additional hours. This is often desirable to learn more about the produce and also interact with members of our farm crew.

Additional hours. You will spend 2-5 hours per week working from home in the evening. Some of these hours will fall on the weekend.

Job duties include:

Prepare for CSA pickups at the farm in the morning; manage and attend CSA pickups in the afternoon/evening. The CSA pickups are in various locations around Boulder.

Supervise and manage all CSA staff. Create schedule for farm crew members working at CSA pickups.

Responsibility for all CSA logistics: providing input in planning weekly CSA items, creating daily harvest lists, organizing all CSA paperwork and signage, and ordering items for CSA from other farms (fruit, eggs, etc).

Answer CSA member emails on a daily basis. Communicate with CSA members via blog posts and social media.

Plan, implement, and oversee farm tours and end-of-season party for CSA members.

Drive large box truck to and from CSA pickups. Perform daily safety check on box truck (check oil, engine fluids, and tire pressure).

Direct staff and assist in truck unloading and CSA setup according to Red Wagons guidelines.

Maintaining a high-quality standard for produce from harvest through distribution to CSA members.

Work as a productive member of the farm crew in the field.

Qualities and abilities required for the CSA Manager:

Excellent communicator

Organized, responsible, and conscientious

Ability to work long hours (10-12 hour days)

Ability to take detailed instructions and follow directions

Ability to communicate with members clearly via email

Proficiency with computer (Excel, email, blog)

Good problem-solving skills

Ability to work with many personality types

Outgoing and friendly personality with ability to talk with many CSA members at pickups

Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow)

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Clean driving record and ability to drive large box truck (or ability to learn)
