We are looking for an experienced and talented Banquet Manager who would report directly to the Director of Banquets, and be responsible for overseeing all banquet events, and managing the daily operations of the Banquet Department, including staffing, inventory, and budget.
Duties:
- Thoughtfully interviews and selects staff; creates a work environment that minimizes turnover and maximizes retention
- Attends BEO meetings and understands how to read and convey information on BEO's
- Conducts pre-shift meetings with staff
- Train, supervise, and assist staff with set up, execution, and breakdown of banquet functions
- Ensure safety training is up to date and continuous
- Assists in keeping necessary inventories on equipment, food, and beverage items
- Monitors budget, protects against losses, and ensures the financial success of the department
- Ensures that guest is given excellent service during event; addresses any potential conflicts with guests, vendors and/or staff in a timely and professional manner
- Effectively addresses performance issues with Associates and applies the Hotels progressive discipline process as appropriate
- Assists Director of Banquets in writing and conducting performance reviews with associates
- Maintains Hotel equipment and ensures that meeting spaces are kept in top condition; notifies the appropriate parties of any needs or major repairs
- Other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience required. Banquets experience in a high-end hotel/resort is preferred
- Experience working banquet events required
- Must have open availability - schedule will fluctuate based on contracted events and required meetings
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
