Opera House Manager Job description
VENUE MANAGER - Job Description
Oversee Operations - management of staff - the overseer of all procedures and the troubleshooter of any problems. Order draft beers, keep chalk board up to date with latest drafts. In charge of closing out bands tickets sales, and all banks.
Venue Maintenance - keep The Opera House in good working condition not only during a performance, but on off nights as well communicate with owners about problems you may find. Assist sound engineer and bands with set up.
Booking - interact directly with booking agent to assist with making sure booking agent is bringing quality events into the Opera House. Pick up and hang all posters within the Opera House and Tavern. Make sure all table tents are up to date and presentable.
Management Team share weekly upcoming event updates to team during team meetings (to assist with staffing communicate with booking agent for show projections)
Bartender Bartend during events, assist stage manager with load in/out
Marketing the venue to the community (ensuring community is aware of the venue and knows what events are coming up), building street teams (for hand bills/fliers), keeping venue posters up-to-date, updating website weekly, weekly mailings to local papers for calendar listings
Customers - pay attention to patrons that to come to the shows (customer safety and security, stake in if performer(s) return keep quality relationships)
Financial monthly/yearly financial budget to work with (share with booking agent), aware of all costs and revenues that affect the way that the space does business, receives periodic financial updates to readjust the operations of the venue to maximize profit by the end of the year
