25 years ago, TC’s Community, a non-profit agency, was formed by the family and friends of a woman with Autism with the mission to consistently provide her with a good, safe, and happy life in her own home.
TC’s Community is currently in search of a friendly and dependable female part-time live-in caregiver (2 shifts/week) who understands the importance of meeting the needs of this wonderful woman.
Our ideal candidate will be a committed, creative, receptive individual who has a great sense of humor, impeccable communication skills, and is able to problem solve on the spot.
All of TC’s Community’s Caregivers are following CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and make only essential public trips to minimize exposure to and potential spread of COVID-19. TC’s Community has implemented protocols upon entering the home to check every person’s temperature and masks are required indoors. The house is cleaned/sanitized/wiped down in between shifts and the entire team is dedicated to looking out for the safety of everyone.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with personal care, including dressing, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and transporting to community activities and events
Ensure highest safety and well-being for Teresa
Assist Teresa to bed and throughout the night as needed
Actively engage with Theresa through companionship and participating in her favorite activities
Ability to be one-on-one with Teresa at home completing routine home activities but strives to create new home-based activities as well
Ability to be one-on-one with Teresa in the community on routine, supported activities and keep her engaged and proactively manage issues and/or safety concerns
Provide emotional support and encouragement to preform necessary tasks
Maintain open communication with TC’s Community regarding Teresa’s medical and emotional condition
Document and report any changes in Teresa’s health status
Perform other reasonable duties as needed
Qualifications
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required
No prior healthcare or caregiver experience required but experience/knowledge working with individuals who have chronic and acute conditions considered an asset
Impeccable written and oral communication skills
Ability to problem solve quickly
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance

Free room and board in exchange for two on-call overnights of care each week, or 15-day time hours of care each week (flexible on shifts/scheduling)
