ACOUSTICAL GRID & TILE INSTALLER

Our team-oriented environment recognizes each position is meaningful to the success we regularly achieve. Carpenters specializing in acoustical grid & tile installation are currently needed.
Candidates must have a valid identification and reliable personal transportation. A 7-year background check will be performed upon hire. Sun Construction is a drug and alcohol-free workplace and all interested candidates, upon hire, will be subject to pre-employment drug screening.
Installs all components required for complete suspended acoustical ceiling.
Measures and marks surface to lay out work according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Nails screws or otherwise attaches molding to wall to support and seal joint between ceiling tile and wall.
Installs hanger wires by tying to building structural joists or anchoring to concrete with powder actuated tool or drill for installing inserts.
Hangs drylines to wall moldings to reference position of main runners and cross tees.
Threads wires through holes in main runners. Cuts & attaches cross tees or supports to suspended main runners & wall molding using snips, clips, rivet gun or other means required.
Ties hanger wires to level or plumb tolerances with the use of a laser or dry line.
Cuts tiles for fixtures, borders and other penetrations using keyhole saw or utility knife. May require use of electric shears or other power equipment for metal or other special products.
Installs tiles by laying in a grid system or applies adhesive to back of tile and presses tile into place aligning with layout marks and joints of previously installed tile.
Need basic knowledge of math and be able to read a tape measure.
Must be able to walk stilts.
Occasional lifting of awkward packages weighing up to 80 pounds each, often overhead.
Will clean area when work is finished.

This position requires physical demands including by not limited to stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing, crouching, climbing, balancing, handling, fingering, depth perception, and reaching. This position requires lifting materials and objects 20-50 lbs, frequently.
