Left Hand Design Corporation, a small manufacturer of aerospace hardware, located in Longmont, Colorado, requires an experienced full-time electronic technician to assemble, debug and test space-flight-qualified servo control electronics for precision positioning mechanisms.

Duties:

* Assemble printed circuit boards

* Assemble and wire electronic chassis

* Assemble cables

* Debug cables, circuits and servo functions

* Perform integration and performance testing of electro-mechanical products

* Test cable, wiring harness and chassis wiring functions

* Perform angular linearity testing with a theodolite

* Perform environmental testing of electro-mechanical components

* Perform receiving inspection testing for electronic parts

* Mix and apply epoxy bonds

* Pack fragile hardware for safe shipment

* Work effectively with mechanical technicians

* Work effectively with engineers and administrative staff

* Support customer interfaces

* Perform certain vendor interfaces

* Follow assembly procedures

* Follow clean-room procedures

* Follow electro-static discharge procedures

* Document assembly steps and test results

* Write Material Discrepancy Reports

* Maintain orderly laboratory

* Maintain laboratory test equipment

* Support the evolution of mechanical and electronic designs

* Support the evolution of assembly procedures

Qualifications:

* Experience with electronic assembly

* Experience with electronic test equipment

* Ability to handle small surface-mount electronic components

* Ability to handle static-sensitive electronic components

* Ability to operate in and maintain clean-rooms

* Understanding of aerospace laboratory environment

* Familiarity with industry-standard workmanship practices

* IPC or similar certification is an added value

* Ability to understand and follow directions and documented procedures

* Familiarity with MATLAB is an added value

* Ability to read and understand schematics

* Quality Control: history of minimal errors

* Ability to compose discrepancy reports is an added value

* Written and verbal skills

* Attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to work efficiently at a reasonable pace

* Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

* High integrity

* Dependability

* Team player

* Self-starter with a proactive approach to job tasks

* Organized, self-disciplined and punctual

* Constructive attitude towards problem solving

* Good personal hygiene and concern for health

* Live in or near Boulder County
