The Boulder Jewish Community Center's [Boulder JCC] mission is to provide programs and services based in Jewish values and traditions in a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather to connect, exchange ideas, learn, and grow. The Boulder JCC is recognized for its innovative approaches to community engagement with the next generation and families through meaningful experiences and philanthropy.

The Boulder JCC recently completed building its new 52,000 square foot facility sitting on a beautiful 10-acre campus in East Boulder. As a community convener and one of the central addresses of Jewish life in Boulder County and beyond, the Boulder JCC prides itself on offering a wide array of community programming including one of the best Boulder preschools, day camps, after school classes, and arts and culture programs serving infants, toddlers, youth, families, teens, young adults, and adults. The new Boulder JCC further fulfills its mission by being a primary destination for all of Boulder County as a place for meetings, celebrations, fundraisers, and other community events.

JOB SUMMARY

The Data Manager reports to the Senior Director of Operations and has primary responsibility for collecting and managing data and creating systems that will support the evaluation of all BJCC programs for purposes of internal reporting, measuring the BJCC's impact with the constituencies it serves, and supporting the agencies reporting to the Board and funders. This person works in partnership with teams across the organization to identify and develop the key metrics to be measured, develop the tools for collection and analysis, ensure the timely and accurate collection of data, the continued integrity of that data, and the analysis of that data. In addition, the Data Manager will gather relevant research to inform and support the BJCC's activities, and report research findings to senior leadership and teams as appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Management

 In collaboration with staff and leadership, identify key metrics which will assist senior leadership and the teams to evaluate the success of programs and the efficiency of the organization

 Partner with teams at BJCC to design and implement performance measurement systems (database and processes) that allow accurate, flexible, and reliable information collection, analysis, and reporting

 Gather and organize data to ensure consistency and integrity

 Analyze data to support evaluation of key metrics identified above; develop into clear and concise reporting

 Collaborate with staff to develop reporting to support program decision making and grant reporting

 Present findings to teams in a way that is useful for decision support, benchmarking, performance tracking and donor cultivation

 Develop the skills of the staff, in collecting, analyzing, and reporting performance and research information

 Adapt to new technologies and develop connectivity required to integrate various data streams

Research

 Survey and collect other research that relates to the BJCC's work

 Summarize research for internal and external review

Qualifications/Skills

 2 to 3 years of experience in data management and research

 Understanding of, and passion for, the BJCC's mission

 Non-profit work experience preferred

 A history of planning, research, project management, and analytical work

 Proven leadership and collaborative approach to finding solutions

 Outstanding analytical ability with a commitment to excellence and accuracy

 Strong database management skills and comfort with statistical analyses; Experience with Salesforce is a plus

 Demonstrated ability to extract meaningful conclusions from large amounts of information and tailor it to various audiences

 Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in the ability to deliver quantitative and qualitative data in a compelling way
