Ready to Work is Boulder’s only transitional employment and housing program providing an opportunity for homeless individuals to transition to independence through paid work and training.

Ready to Work seeks a supervisor for our outdoor work operation to oversee crew operations and perform contract duties.

Job Description:

Work Supervisor: 40 hours per week, requires flexible schedule, competitive benefits package after 30 days.

Responsibilities:

Supervise a crew of up to 15 individuals performing supplemental sanitation and landscaping services in Metro and business districts

Accept work assignments from State, County, City and Non-Profit Agencies, and ensure they are completed in a timely manner

Communicate work tasks to crew, provide proper instructions and motivation, resolve conflict as necessary

Communicate effectively with agency staff and Ready to Work Director of Outdoor Operations.

Report on trainee progress to Director of Outdoor Operations, case management and Program Director

Provide constructive supervision to crew members and problem solve as needed

Maintain time logs, incident reports, and safety logs and documentation as necessary

Maintain equipment, work supplies and inventory

Ensure, instruct, and model Ready to Work values, making sure that trainees are acting in a manner consistent with Ready to Work program requirements

Must maintain professional boundaries with clients

Maintain vehicle logs and concerns related to functioning. Follow safe driving techniques.

Act as a liaison to community on the work performed by Ready to Work crew.

Assist in trainee recruitment

Act as a role model for program trainees

Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience in landscaping, handy work, construction or custodial maintenance

1 year or more of supervision in a similar work environment

Understanding of population to supervise and commit to help homeless individuals enter the workforce

Excellent communication skills and ability to be flexible

Clean Colorado driver’s license

Reports to Ready to Work Director of Outdoor Operations
