We are seeking an enthusiastic individual excited about a unique opportunity at Boulder's only nonprofit active lifestyle clothing boutique. Ramble on Pearl is owned and operated by Boulder Treasures, Inc, a nonprofit founded in 2013, that creates pathways to inclusion for adults with developmental disabilities through an apprenticeship program operated within a retail environment. Our Job Coaches play a crucial role in working directly with our apprentices to teach them the hard and soft skills of employment through paid on-the-job training. In addition, you will support our Store Manager in the customary responsibilities of a Retail Sales Associate.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand, embrace and emanate Boulder Treasures mission.
Train our Apprentices in the soft and hard skills of employment at Ramble on Pearl.
Under the supervision of the Apprentice Program Manager, follow standard procedures for written documentation of apprentice activities and progress.
Assist the Store Manager in day-to-day operations of the store and perform duties as a keyholder when required by shift schedules.
Remain current and knowledgeable in all store systems (point of sale and inventory management systems) and merchandise brands as required to train our apprentices in all aspects of customer service.
Perform cash register and inventory control procedures.
Mentor our apprentices as they learn various retail skills.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have the following expertise:
Experience and passion for working with and advocating for persons with developmental disabilities.
Ability to coach and instruct others to realize their full potential with clarity, consistency, firmness, respect, and patience.
Display strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
Knowledge of retail store operations and excellent customer service skills.
A minimum of 1 year retail experience.
Available to work 4+/- days/week Saturdays thru Tuesdays
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree, or minimum 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
COMPENSATION/JOB BENEFITS:
$15+/hr Depending on experience
