Were a local hauling company in need of a part-time warehouse diversion specialist. We have a 4300sq. ft. warehouse that we use to receive deliveries from our dump trucks and to store and sell items that are recyclable, re-useable or able to be re-purposed.
You should be able to safely lift 75 pounds on your own, not be afraid of getting dirty, have a calm mind in the midst of chaos, be able to tell what has value and purpose and what is actually junk.
You will receive daily (sometimes hourly) deliveries and sort the junk dropped off. You will clean up the "junk" and sort it for it's next purpose which may include being sold to local thrift stores or on Craigslist / Nextdoor / Facebook. Posting on these sites and dealing with the thrifters is a big part of the job.
The following experience is helpful:
dealing with used/thrift items,
working and selling on craigslist and ebay,
being very well organized,
shouldn't mind working alone,
minor carpentry/repairing busted furniture,
knowledge of electronics and how to test if they are working,
retail experience / sales experience,
use of cash register,
photography skills,
basic computer skills.
About this position:
Part-time: Thursday & Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 9am 2pm
Temporary: Position is only through October
