Challenge Technology (with over 35 years as an industry leader) is looking for an experienced Outside Sales Engineer focused on selling power back up, power protection and power distribution products to commercial/industrial contractors, engineering firms, and end users in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the electrical industry - relating to UPS, Surge Suppression, and Power Distribution products/services.

The sales person will be responsible for sales growth of new and existing accounts through the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies. Prior success working in the electrical industry with engineers, contractors, distributors and/or end users is a plus.

The candidate shall effectively sell and interface at several levels within a customer's organization, including engineering, project management, purchasing, operations, building maintenance, facility management, and corporate executives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Achieve specified business objectives and close orders at key accounts.

• Guide the development and execution of strategic account plans to achieve assigned business goals.

• Develop / build / cultivate long-term relationships with key personnel and management within the customer organization.

• Provide client presentations articulating the value proposition of product / solution / service offerings.

• Possess a high level of product knowledge to guide customer planning and budgeting on product and system sales.

• Focus on account strategies that assure continued customer loyalty.

• Develop sponsorship with key decision-makers within customer organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sales calls - interface with customers in person, by phone and make product presentations.

• Proactively address potential problems and provide effective solutions in relation to applications.

• Exhibit strong analytical skills to interpret and forecast changes in customer buying patterns and product requirements.

• Maintain broad knowledge of Company products and develop business plans and sales strategies that will influence customers toward represented products.

• Demonstrate a desire to grow with openness to new ideas.

• Proficient with processes of a CRM tool to provide key customer data, project opportunities, and activities to Challenge management.

• Prepare quotations based on project requirements offering optimal solutions.

Education:

• BS/BA degree preferred.

• Electrical Engineering background a plus.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum five years industrial electrical solution selling required. Experience with UPS, Surge Suppression and Track Busway power distribution equipment is preferred.

• Successfully serve as point of authority and source of technical knowledge for area of expertise.

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of organization's business practices, offering solutions to problems and challenges that may arise.

• Ability to work with client at executive and management levels.
