About Flytedesk
We're student media nerds with deep roots in millennial marketing. We know our audience better than anyone else. It's our mission to build the financial engine of student media by solving the biggest pain point in advertising.
Before Flytedesk, the $6B in ad inventory on college campuses - split between college newspapers, campus out of home, student sites, sports arenas, and more - wasn't accessible at scale to media buyers. Flytedesk's self-serve platform automates the college advertising experience by giving media buyers the tools to create, book, manage, and measure national campaigns in just minutes. That opens up a new world of opportunities to the partners we work with today. As a member of our growing engineering team you'll be leading the charge to bring power, functionality, and continued growth to the platform.

The Job
In addition to real-world technical challenges that you will solve, you'll be one of the early members of our engineering team. This will provide you the opportunity to help establish our engineering culture, processes, and architectural solutions as we grow the team and the platform for the years ahead.
The Requirements
* A love for PHP and a desire to continue coding in it (including in Laravel)
* DevOps experience (AWS, Jenkins, Kubernetes, GitLab, Docker, etc.)
* MySQL / NoSQL databases
* Strong Linux experience
* A passion for coding elegant, clean, well tested and documented solutions to complex technical challenges
* A desire to work with new tools and share new ideas in a collaborative environment
* Experience with application and systems architecture
* Highly competent in the entire lifecycle of building and releasing SaaS software products to production.
* Minimum 5-7 years of Open Source software engineering experience building SaaS applications
* Demonstrated experience making informed, intelligent decisions based on business priorities, technical best practices, and end-user needs.
* Deep expertise in designing and building complex, highly distributed software
* Consistently document and test code to quickly identify and resolve issues that may affect the quality of service.
* Proactive and effective cross-functional communicator takes initiative to create technical specifications and product documentation, solicits reviews from appropriate stakeholders, and works with engineering team to translate the approved designs into well-defined user stories
* Experience in fast-paced Agile environments, we spend dedicated time weekly in paired programming as well (though it's not the majority of the time)
Nice to have skills
* Experience working in Microservices SaaS environment
* Prior experience with large data structures and data modeling
* Experience with reactive Javascript Frameworks (VueJS, React, Angular, etc.)
* Experience with mainstream IDE's
* Redis
* GraphQL
* Node
* Python
