What you’ll be doing The Verizon Security Management and Cyber Risk Program Security Consultant II is an experienced and primary resource assigned to each SMP/CRP client to provide the services (activities, tasks, reports, recommendations and guidance) in accordance with the Verizon Security Management Program (SMP) and/or Cyber Risk Program (CRP) service descriptions, regardless of the level of service purchased.In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Daily project coordination of assigned accounts to maintain a 95% on-time activity execution rate.

Manage all aspects client deliverables; from data collection and analysis to report writing based on proprietary risk ratings.

Provide clients with Risk-based solutions to assist with their remediation efforts.

Answer client questions and concerns within a timely fashion.

Coordinate and lead scheduled status calls with each of assigned accounts.

Track client progress and update internal programs associated with the Cyber Risk Programs.

Help clients mitigate security related risks by providing alternative recommendation and guidance.

Perform assessments and provide reporting on elements of Cyber Risk Program as contracted, including but not limited to client IP reputational data, NetFlow assessments, Phishing and DLP assessments.

Upload client data and write corresponding “Risk Report”.

Provide guidance and recommendations to assigned client base contacts, from Engineer level to “C” Level.

Work with minimal supervision as an individual contributor and as part of the team.

Provide innovated ideas and solutions to complex situations.

Be proficient in the Verizon Data Breach Report and VERIS Framework.

Continue to learn more about the ever changing Information Security world, and be flexible as the program evolves.

Mentor and provide guidance and training Cyber Risk Program Consultants (Level 1).

Participate in and/or lead internal projects and deliverables as assigned/designated by management.

Adhere to all Verizon corporate, division, department and team policies and procedures.

Onsite work may be required on weekends and outside of normal business hours.

What we’re looking for You’ll need to have:

Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Four or more years of experience in an IT/Network/Cyber/Information security environment.

Position Applicable vendor certifications (e.g. Qualys, etc.).

Knowledge of TCP/IP and related concepts (wireless, information security, malware, application security, endpoint security).

Knowledge of Threats, Risks, Vulnerabilities and Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of systems and services.

Even better if you have:

A degree.

CISSP and active (maintained), GSEC, or Ethical Hacker (CEH) or comparable certification such as ISACA CISA, CRISC, CISM, and SANS GIAC Certifications also preferred.

Working knowledge with Fortune 500 companies.

Experience with vulnerability scanners, GRC tools, log management tools, Threat Hunting/Dark Web Hunting, Firewall Reviews & assessments, etc.

Understanding of Regulatory and Compliance Standards: ISO-17799:2005, ISO-27001, or ISO-27002 experience, NIST, COBIT, GLBA, HIPPA, FDIC, PCI, SANS/CIS CSC-20.

Risk or Compliance Audits or assessment experience.

Trusted Security Advisor for clients – Strong client relationship management skills.

Capability to be detail-oriented and a team player.

Capability to be a self-starter/self-directed – ability to work independently.

Strong analytical skills.

Strong time management skills.

Exceptional task management skills.

Ability to write technical reports and interpret analytical results for variety of audience levels (engineer to “C” Level).

Use of open source tools, Command line usage.
