What You Will Do :

Orbital Analysts support Numerica€™s growing program in Space Situational Awareness (SSA), the operation of Numerica€™s SSA technologies at space operation centers, and the production of high-quality data and information products from its remote telescope network.

The successful applicant will work on projects that carry varying responsibilities, such as :

Contribute to the direction of a talented small team with your expertise and ideas;

Exercise Numerica€™s SSA software using real-time and historical data, and perform quality assurance on its outputs;

Develop software and shell scripts to help automate, monitor, and enhance data processing related to space operations;

Support ongoing and future transitions of Numerica€™s SSA products and services to space operations centers;

Engage with our customers and other orbital analysts to ensure successful outcomes for their mission-critical needs;

Prepare technical reports and briefing materials.

Recommended Background and Experience

B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 3-5 years of relevant work experience;

Proficiency with the Linux operating system and experience developing applications in at least one of the following computing languages : Python, C / C, shell scripting;

Record of academic excellence, including demonstrated experience in astrodynamics and orbit determination;

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to convey salient details about advanced technology in a compelling manner to both experts and non-experts alike.

U.S. Citizenship Required

Due to the nature of the work performed at Numerica, all applicants must be capable of obtaining a U.S. Security Clearance.

At a minimum, this requires that a candidate be a U.S. citizen with a personal history indicating trustworthiness, reliability, and sound judgement (e.

g., clean criminal record, no use of illegal drugs, etc.).
