All life support certification cards must be issued byeither the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR forthe Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescueris only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through anAmerican Heart Association sanctioned course.)
Job Duties:Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plansbased on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize availableresources.
Monitors, records, andcommunicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as neededacross disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer,discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs ofpatient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate toage, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patientcare to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
Within scope of job, requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimalsupervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriateaction. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipmentas required.
