Principal Software Engineer Colorado Springs,ColoradoAs member of the Integration & Test (I&T) Functional Area of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) (aka C2BMC NT), this position will coordinate, develop and implement detailed test plans and procedures to test C2BMC network and interface designs implementation in an integrated environment, or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing).Responsibilities:Implement tests of interface communication paths and capacity performanceConduct post-test data analysis and reportingCreate test Discrepancy Reports to document issues and assist development with the investigation and resolution of issuesCoordinate and disseminate the weekly Lab Schedule including sending out the Daily Status Report (DSR) for the runs that were implemented that dayReview and comment on testability issues, obvious design flaws, anticipate data collection points and coordinateAnalyze and validate the performance and validity of Sensor Resource Management interfaces and supporting system software to specified system requirementsTest and evaluate network requirements that enable the C2BMC element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS)Skills and Experience Required:Knowledge of software and system verification and validation processes and techniques, test reporting, regression testing, and test data analysisNetwork engineering, ICD verification as well as command and control infrastructure software such as data handling and synchronization including ancillary equipment monitoringAbility to analyze and validate the performance and validity of interfaces and supporting system software to specified system requirementsExperience with Agile development and related test methodologies, automated testing framework, manipulation of large data sets, spreadsheet analysis, and associated resources; MATLAB, PL/SQL queries, conducting post-processing and quantitative/qualitative analysis of collected data, development of action plans based upon analysis of data, documenting deficiency reports, and presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).Excellent verbal and written communications skills enabling you to work effectively in a small technical team environment, and to accurately represent test perspectives to C2BMC system architects, software designers, other testers and test support personnel, the Government customer, and personnel in other MDA programsSome technical leadership experienceTesting and evaluation of a software-intensive system in a variety of test environments/venues, integrating into an Agile development environmentFunctional capability related test/analysis planning and implementation, data collection and test data analysis and reportingExperience should involve characterizing system, software, or component performance using quantitative methodsReporting the characterization to subsequent usersContributing to performance assessment by program system engineersMust be very familiar with the following: the TCP/IP Model, the OSI Model, Multicast, Firewalls, Routing Protocols, experience with TACLANES, capturing and deciphering packets (50% of testing efforts involve packet capture and analysis), Network Address Translation (NAT), Network Timing, ability to read technical network diagramsSpecific experience with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment (related certifications desired)Education Required:8 years of experience with a Technical Bachelors Degree (Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science), additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.IAT Level II (i.e. Sec+) certificationOther:Infrequent travel to and from HSV and COSActive/Current Secret ClearanceU.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment#SPACE2020170156Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
