Colorado Springs based Mechanical Contractor is seeing entry level project engineer.

Overview:

Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated mechanical construction project(s) to ensure that goals or objectives of project(s) are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Must have strong leadership, organizational and computer skills. Project Engineers are required to have comprehensive understanding of commercial construction and specifically, mechanical systems construction and of all project management duties, including: planning; budgeting; scheduling; and administration of contract, buyout, documentation, meetings, billings, change conditions, labor productivity, cost control and project closeout.

Responsibilities:

•Perform duties in accordance with company standard policies and procedures.

•Initiate, review and oversee all required project administration and documentation, as necessary to avoid claims and to protect the best interest of HVAC Solutions and our clients.

•Review, finalize and distribute project budget. Make all required budget updates and revisions.

•Conduct Pre-Construction Turnover Meetings for all assigned projects.

•Ensure all required permits and/or licenses are obtained and posted.

•Initiate setup, monitoring and updating of project scheduling.

•Coordinate all required procurement of materials and equipment with Purchasing Agent, with emphasis on buyout plan to meet, or improve on, established schedule dates and budget cost.

•Sub-contract Agreement negotiation, preparation, processing and execution.

•Ensure all required submittal review, processing and approvals, and submittal logs are set-up and maintained.

•Ensure release and expediting of all materials and equipment.

•With the assistance of a Project Manager develop, submit and obtain approval of Billing Schedule of Values. Prepare accurately, and submit on time, all required billings.

•With the assistance of a Project Manager price, negotiate and process all change condition and change order work. Maintain all required change related and change order logs.

•With the assistance of the Labor Manager, ensure all assigned projects are properly staffed with appropriate Field Forces.

•Monitor Field Lead Men on 3rd Party rental equipment and company owned tools used on all assigned projects. Ensure that any tools and rental equipment not required, or not being utilized, are returned immediately to the Rental Company or Company Tool crib.

•Coordinate work and communications between departments as necessary. Cooperate fully and assist whenever possible with the efforts of other department members such as Service Department, Residential, Fabrication Shop and Accounting.

•Responsible for overall financial performance of all assigned projects, including continual cost control, management and forecasting. Prepare accurately, and submit on time, all required project monthly contract valuations.

•Manage all sub-contractors and suppliers.

•Review, approve and process all sub-contractor and supplier invoices.

•Attend Project Management meetings and respond to any questions associated with assigned projects.

•Keep President, Vice President or Senior Project Manager informed of any major developments, good or bad, on each project.

•Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all customers, external and internal. Market HVAC Solutions, Inc. to our clients and be on the lookout for any new or upcoming projects.

•Visit project sites on a regular basis.

•Ensure all projects are closed out in an organized and timely manner.

•Conduct Post-Construction Closeout Meetings for all assigned projects with the Estimating Department and Labor Manager.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and/or 2 to 5 years related field and management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, and individual should have good knowledge of any project management software; high level of expertise in MS Excel and good knowledge of MS Word.

Candidates must be able to pass a drug and background check.
