We are looking for a remote, part-time employee to join our web-based company. Sherpa Software Development is a small company with a few web applications that we create, maintain and support for the commercial furniture industry. Our products are awesome! Our customers love them! But we need some extra help in providing support and helping to raise awareness of who we are and what we do.

We are based in Northern Virginia but are looking for someone in the Mountain Time Zone to work roughly 4 hours a day. We are all remote workers without a central office. The work hours are flexible, but the idea is that you would be primarily available for phone/email support in the late afternoon to cover the East Coast team after their business hours end.

Since we are a small company, we all wear lots of hats. Most of your day to day activity is helping customers - via phone, email and sometimes web screen share sessions. Other tasks may include: test new releases, proofread documents, vote on marketing and advertising decisions, update our social media presences, call prospective customers, give training sessions and more. In addition, we want to make a big push in getting our product more awareness in the industry. This will involve working with manufacturers in getting lists of dealerships and calling them directly. As a result, the candidate must feel very comfortable on the phone, have a pleasant personality, and have confidence in reaching out to cold prospects.

We offer a tremendous amount of flexibility. We are an ideal job for stay-at-home parents, retirees, and the like, because you can set the hours to meet your schedule. However, you must be very self-motivated and self-directed. Since we are all remote and working on our own tasks, you'll be expected to "take the ball and run with it", when it comes to your assignments.

This is a salaried, part-time position that includes paid time off, but no health benefits. The equivalent hourly wage is $20-$25 an hour depending on experience and capabilities. You must have your own spot to work from. We work from home, you can work from wherever, as long as it is quiet enough for phone conversations.

Fluency in both the English language and high degree of comfort using modern technologies (web applications, mobile apps, Google documents, etc) are requirements. You must also have high-speed internet access. The following skill sets are a bonus:

1. Experience in the commercial furniture industry (a BIG plus)

2. Previous marketing/advertising/sales experience

3. Experience supporting web-based applications

4. A niche that you provide (accounting background, can do voiceovers for videos, great with copy editing, loves connecting with prospects on the phone, etc. Something that is unique to you that raises the bar at our whole company).
