SUMMARYResponsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complexprojects as required by client’s documents, provides complete conceptual and total bid price.TOTAL COMPENSATION$72,480 - $151,860ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review construction documents and understands scope of work to bid to execute take-offs of construction documents.

Work with project owner early in the bidding process to understand the project scope and desired results that meet their expectations.

Attend proposal meeting with the owner to discuss scope of work, answer questions, and present value engineering alternates.

Ensure that accurate and complete estimates of project are prepared on time and in a professional and competitive manner. Estimator will be expected to complete a detailed complete estimate using concept drawings and applicable software

Prepare estimates by calculating a complete quantity takeoff of the scope of work and assure estimates are accurate and in line with expected unit cost history as well as profit margins.

Prepare detailed proposal specifications, schedule, and coordinate concept drawings that accurately portray the scope of work and requirements of the project for presentation to the owner.

Prepare lists of subcontractors/suppliers confirmed to be bidding on project.

Work with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit quotations, organize, review and complete detailed scopes of work and cost comparisons.

Maintain files of documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on unit prices from suppliers.

Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.

Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.

Problem solving: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Civil Estimating techniques, regulatory compliance, and cost control processes.

Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.

Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Excellent communication, organizational, grammatical, and time-management skills.

Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude.

Positive attitude with good customer service skills.

Excellent time management skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCERequired: HS graduate with at least 6 years of proven Civil Estimating experience plus familiarity in other fields such as grading, excavation, demolition and Wet Utilities.Preferred: BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field or CCP / CEP Certification in lieu of degree. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, View Point, Heavy Job and Heavy Bid, and AGTEK software to extract and provide job cost analysis, project information and produce related reports.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will have No supervision requirementsLANGUAGE SKILLSThis position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers, customers and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSThis job requires the ability to do and understand moderate math equations and financial concepts.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Able to sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally walking, push, pull and lift boxes/items 25 to 30 poundsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Estimators must continually visit clients and assigned projects with minimum exposure to weather conditions as well as uneven terrain.Office atmosphere working with office equipment such as computers, copiers, and scanners.We Offer an Outstanding Benefit Package:
