Job Description:

The well-qualified candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following task areas:

Technical duties/responsibilities:

  • Perform administration, maintenance, patching, tuning, and repair of high performance computing systems, including parallel file systems, storage systems, high speed networks, peripherals, and software;
  • Manage compiler and system environments;
  • Provide science project support for the programming and use of high-performance scientific computing environments;
  • Assist in technical issue resolution;
  • Develop and maintain HPC System and User documentation;
  • Perform system installation and configuration;
  • Perform system testing and benchmarking within an HPC environment;
  • Develops advanced engineering ideas and guides their development into a final product;

Project management oversight skills to:

  • Ensure products or services are delivered within 5 business days of requested date;
  • Meet and follow the criteria identified in the associated system technical plans;
  • Meet and follow the criteria in the associated training project plan;
  • Meet and follow project requirements developed with stakeholder and management input;
  • Ensure support requests are acknowledged and responded to, according to Service Level Agreements and system defects are identified and remedied within one week of requested date;
  • Ensure information provided is sufficient as to be understood by users and staff at multiple technical levels;
  • Identify system abnormalities and components that may require tuning;

Reporting

  • Develop and receive feedback of monthly status reports;

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 10+ years of experience

The likely salary range for this position is $128,640 - $192,960, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
