Laboratory Technician - Temporary$18.00 per hourDays Shift 8-5 PMPosition SummaryTo monitor and ensure compliance to materials and product specifications, customer requirements and quality requirements as well as collaborating with plant personnel to produce superior quality products.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesMonitoring and ensuring compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsible for planning, setting up, and carrying out microbial and environmental analyses per schedule.
Responsible for performing key quality activities as described in the Quality Procedures.
Performing key activities to ensure finished product compliance to requirements such as Weight Verification, Finished product evaluations, Finished product shelf life monitoring, Segregating and placing nonconforming product on HOLD in accordance to the Quality Procedures.
Performing key activities to ensure products are produced in a clean environment such as Microbiology sampling, Pre-operational inspections, and Plant Inspections.
Follows Good Lab Practices by performing lab cleanup and keeping work area clean and ensuring the laboratory activities comply to the requirements such as Cleaning and maintaining testing equipment, Calibrating testing equipment, Cleaning and maintaining the laboratory, Complying with all safety requirements and promoting safety with the rest of the plant employees
Documents all samples and enters the results in the appropriate reports.
Stores chemicals in a safe environment.
Performs any other tasks as assigned by quality management.
Job QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail High Integrity Continuous Learner Dependable Positive Attitude Team PlayerEducation and Formal Training: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Two-year Degree in Sciences / Microbiology or related field required. 2 years of work experience in a laboratory environment required. Preferred some knowledge in chemistry and microbiology and good math skills Flexibility in work schedule Good knowledge on computer programs such as Microsoft Word, ExcelWorking Environment/Physical Activities Must have Company Paid Eye Exam Analytical and microbiology laboratory environment. Manufacturing and plan environment. Able to lift or manipulate up to 50 pounds. Standing more than 50% of the time.
