Recognized across the organization as a developing subject matter expert on CDN technologies and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex problems. Undertakes multiple highly complex CDN projects which may require coordination across multiple business units. This position will be focused on the infrastructure, applications and support systems required to operate a large scale global CDN productThe Main ResponsibilitiesPosition requires extensive knowledge in deploying and operating customer focused solutions in large scale networks to include a background in Open Source technologies, IP networking, Security and Virtualization
Strong understanding of Content Delivery Networks, Media acquisition/packaging/delivery and OTT concepts in support of both Live and VOD content
Experience in design and implementation of an environment supporting virtual machines and containers
Ability to be flexible in applying background as a Systems Engineer, Dev/Ops or Network Engineer in developing new features and solutions
Analyze Product and Architecture inputs to develop technical requirements to support design and development efforts
Develop solutions and test guidance to satisfy technical requirements that address automation, scalability, performance and redundancy in a CI/CD environment
Define, document and communicate standards for managing the production CDN network
Define, document and communicate up to date network designs representative of the production network
Ensure alignment of assigned projects with agreed upon Strategic Roadmaps and Target Architectures
Provide peer review on architecture and designs developed to support projects not directly assigned to ensure alignment with overall CDN direction
Engage in the forward-looking planning and decision-making process to ensure the CDN product is in a continuous improvement cycle to support the business strategy
What We Look For in a CandidateBachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
10+ years related experience
Minimum 5 years working in a Unix/Linux based server environment with strong scripting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to stay organized and keep multiple priorities on target
Self-motivated with a consistent drive towards results
Protocols: Adaptive Streaming (DASH, HLS, HDS, Smooth), HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/UDP, BBR, DNS, BGP
Software: NGINX, Apache, LUA, Python, Jenkins, Jupyter, Kafka, Elasticsearch and Kubernetes
