This role will lead, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the systems and processes necessary to allow us to develop and deploy software faster and improve the performance and resiliency of our systems. This candidate will also be responsible for implementing cloud infrastructure to support our applications. Our success relies on having a robust and digestible view of live market data so our traders can identify opportunities, execute trades, and manage risk. We are looking for a self-starter with a record of accomplishment and a drive to learn. As lead full-stack engineer, you would immediately play an integral role in the firm’s operations and, ultimately, its success by working in a highly visible and highly accountable position that collaborates directly with the founder. The systems you will work on are the core technology and analytics that allows RVA to profitably trade the US equity options markets.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop across the stack on web applications using AWS cloud-based computing environments
Work with cutting-edge technologies and introduce improvements to our stack, end-user experience, business processes, and workflows via rapid prototypes/proof-of-concepts
Continuously improve team productivity, code quality, tool, and technology adoption
Consistently write production-ready and testable code
Consider scalability, reliability and performance when defining technical designs
Push the limits of what can be achieved with JavaScript and a web browser
Contribute to our culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of experience with custom web development skillset (preferably with React on the Front End and NodeJS, PostgreSQL, GraphQL (Apollo Server and Client), AWS Microservices on the Back End)
Experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. ECS, RDS, ALB, CloudWatch)
Comfortable with securing a production container ecosystem (Docker, Fargate/ECS, Kubernetes, service discovery, service registry) in a continuous delivery environment
Proficiency with object oriented languages such as Typescript and Python
Proficient understanding of algorithms, data structures, architectural design patterns and best practices
Proven understanding of CI/CD (ideally using GitHub Actions) and application monitoring tools such as DataDog and Cloudwatch
Experience with relational databases and proficient in SQL
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
NICE TO HAVE
Experience in data analysis using Numpy/Pandas (Python) and/or R
Experience with Terraform to automate AWS infrastructure
Experience with JavaScript libraries High Charts, AG-Grid, and Material-UI
Experience with Prisma and Nexus.js
Experience with Electron
Experience in the financial markets or fintech
Strong mathematical background
