CARPENTER / WOODWORKER
Jeremiah Johnson Log Homes, LLC in Dumont, CO, is seeking a part-time Carpenter in our log production yard. A full time position may also be available.
JOB DESCRITION
We are looking for a qualified Carpenter Woodworker to cut and fabricate custom production orders for log siding, log poles, log railing, log furniture, lumber and a variety other projects. You will be involved in every step of the manufacturing process including cutting raw logs, milling, sanding, finishing and shipping various orders. You will be working independently, with little supervision, in our outdoor log yard.
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter. The right candidate will possess a high attention for detail, excellent time management skills and the ability to troubleshoot a problem. The hours are varied and will depend on production needs. Some occasional overnight travel may be needed. There is a potential for this position to turn full-time. Wage is based on experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reading blueprints, drawings and sketches and fully grasping their requirements
Taking measurements and calculating the size of the material needed
Operating a log band saw mill, chain saw, power tools and hand tools
Cutting, shaping, smoothing, gluing, sanding, and finishing logs and raw lumber
Operating heavy yard equipment such as but not limited to a Skid-Steer, Front End Loader and Forklift.
Assembling products, packing and preparing orders for shipment;
Planning and implementing a time efficient production schedule
Maintaining clean and organized log yard
Following all safety guidelines
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Proven and consistent hands-on carpentry work experience.
Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of construction.
Skilled in using a variety of power, hand and measuring tools.
Skilled in reading blue prints, drawings and sketches
Ability to operate a band mill saw with proper training.

Note-taking and cleaning skills
Ability to keep accurate hours and project records.

Basic cell phone and computer skills including use of internet, email and cell phone apps.
A valid drivers license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and maneuver 50+ lbs. is required
Ability to stand for the duration of the workday required
Good physical condition and endurance.
Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
