Position Summary

We are seeking a Sr. Environmental Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the technical and administrative aspects of a variety of projects, including CERCLA remedial investigations and feasibility studies; remedial designs and construction; operations; and third-party oversight at a number of US Air Force bases located in South Dakota and Colorado. BEM’s HQ office is in Chatham, NJ where you will report into while you will be located near the project locations in either Rapid City, SD or Colorado Springs/Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

Develop project budgets based on the scope and develop project schedules to meet performance and payment milestones;

Direct, manage, and lead project teams to meet project budget and schedule;

Effectively interact with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management;

Support business development efforts, including scoping and developing cost estimates for competitive procurement;

Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously;

Provide technical support and supervision of a variety of onsite projects; and

Oversee the development and review of maps, drawings, and specifications, data collection, data entry and analysis, oversight of field operations, project management, and cost estimation.

Qualifications

An advanced degree with an emphasis in engineering or environmental sciences or related scientific degree required.

Five plus years of Project Management experience with environmental investigation, remediation or restoration projects for federal or state government agencies required.

Professional licensure (PE, CPG, etc.) is preferred, however verifiable experience with quality references would also be considered.

Proven track record of successful project execution, including experience with the assessment and characterization of PFOA/PFAS contaminants in developing conceptual site models.

Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, and regulations for contaminated sites and emerging contaminants.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Tireless attention to detail and ability to complete work with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.
