Are you a nature loving, safety minded leader who can help to guide our summer camp kiddos? We have openings for staff 18 years or older with at least 480 hours of experience with youth. YMCA Elks Day Camp has horseback riding, rock climbing, archery, swimming, hiking and more on tap. You'll explore wildlife, waterways, plants and all of the outdoors. We are going to get dirty, have fun and explore our natural world.
While familiarity with rock climbing and horseback riding procedures is a bonus, it is not required prior to employment with our programs. Come join our camp family for one of the most challenging, fun and rewarding summers of your life.
To apply for this position you must:
-Be 18 years or older
-Provide documentation of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, sports, or babysitting. 460 hours+ preferred. 910+ hours required for director-level staff.
-Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid. (We can provide this, too)
-Work well on a team, communicate well with youth, parents and colleagues and be committed to implementing high quality programming.
You'll work up to 40 hours a week between 7:00a to 6:00p M-F. No evenings. No weekends (except one weekend training May 21-22nd)! This position is seasonal between May 21st -Aug 12th; full time and part time opportunities are available.
Salary range $16-22/hr based on experience, qualifications, and availability. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. We have up to $400 hiring incentives available AND you family will get great benefits too!
