This is a unique position for someone who wants some very flexible, part-time hours to do a variety of tasks. We are imagining bringing on a student to do this, but are certainly open to anyone who's interested. Will be at least 10 hours per week, with more available as you become able to work more autonomously.
This will be mostly remote work, but you should still be in Fort Collins because there will be times that we'll need to work with you in person.
We are a small acoustical engineering consulting firm. Currently there is one full-time engineer (me, the owner) plus a few engineers who work on a contract basis. In addition to the bulk of the engineering work, I also handle all of the admin and most of the tech work. We'd like someone to take on as much of the admin and tech work as possible, freeing up the engineers to do more engineering.
Your tasks will vary by day and by week. Here are some of the things we'd like help with:
Basic file and records organization.
Maintaining and organizing measurement equipment.
Processing and formatting measurement data.
Preparing templates and files for new projects.
Searching for and acquiring data from public records sources.
Reading architectural drawings to extract the information we need.
Performing technical calculations.
Improving existing calculation and report templates.
Ideally you're good with Excel and Word and it'd be excellent if you know how to use Google Earth or other, similar software. We don't expect you to be able to do most of what we want you to do right away There will be lots to learn. We need someone who enjoys learning new skills and isn't afraid to take on new and different tasks. This is not for everyone.
