This is a part time job about 21+ hours per week. Looking for a driver who can drive 3+ hours in the early morning hours and drive 3+ hours and the late afternoon, 3 1/2 days a week, Sunday through Wednesday.
The Shuttle Driver's primary purpose is to transport drivers from the Zito Trucking Yard to shift change locations.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ensures shuttle van is in safe, operating order
Ensures drivers are picked up and dropped off on-time
Delivers paper timesheets to office when requested by drivers
Follows traffic laws and ensures passengers are wearing seat belts
Effectively operates vehicle in adverse road and weather conditions
Reports all accidents, near misses and safety violations
Communicates with dispatch via phone for location and time of driver pickups and drop offs
Attends mandatory weekly safety meetings
Keeps shuttle van neat and tidy
Fuels shuttle van when nearing empty and frequently checks and replenishes fluid levels
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Valid driver's license required
Experience operating a shuttle van or large vehicle preferred
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Ability to read a map or receive directions over the phone
Ability to work under extreme stress and small spaces
Ability to multi-task and easily problem solve during high stress situations
Knowledge of company's general systems, policies and business practices
Physical Requirements
Most work is performed in extreme temperature environments. Incumbent may be exposed to loud noises, extreme cold or heat, rain, snow, sleet, hail, wind, dust, mud and uneven ground surfaces.
Incumbent may sit for long periods of time in the shuttle van
Incumbent may encounter rough, uneven roads that jostles driver up and down, side to side
Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond in order to avoid potential accidents
