Job Description

This Intern role is within the Visa DPS Risk Services team. The Risk Services provides a suite of Payment System risk mitigation tools and services for our Issuer processing clients, and with these tools and services, delivers fraud rates 27% lower than Visa US Debit average. Performance measurement and analytics represents a key differentiator in our competitive performance advantages, enabling us to continually identify opportunities and hone in on areas to target that enable us to continually build on our performance differentiation to the benefit of our clients.

This intern will have the opportunity to work with our Risk and Disputes analytics professionals, developing and deploying data-driven insights and propelling our risk strategies. The position will also evaluate analytics-based solutions to automate key processes including client performance scorecards, client billing, and client performance insights for cross-functional management.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain standard and customized operational and fraud performance insights across various measures
  • Provide analytical insights and data visualizations for Visa clients, team members and other internal resources
  • Research and implement better methods to streamline data collection and reporting efforts
  • Work effectively with internal/external resources to define analytical objectives, data requirements, obtain data and perform in-depth analyses to achieve a defined business objective
  • Build out client performance insights and measurements against industry benchmarks with an eye to identifying opportunity for performance improvements and/or increased profitability
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Visa products and services

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Undergrad Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degreein Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Businessor a related field,

    graduating December 2022or later
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent scale)
  • Work Authorization:Permanent Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. Future sponsorship will not be considered.
  • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Tableau Desktop and Server skills a plus
  • Strong background and skills with ETL systems, with Alteryx as preferred platform.
  • SAS experience: proficiency and continuous skills development in leading edge analytic tools, e.g. SAS OR, Tableau, Hands on Hadoop experience is a plus
  • The ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity

Work Hours:

  • This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
