Tezak Heavy Equipment Co., Inc. is a well established family owned and operated Construction Company located in Canon City Colorado. Tezak Heavy Equipment Co., Inc. is rapidly expanding and has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic.
Recognized a leader in the Civil / Heavy Highway construction industry, the majority of work we contract as prime on, highway, drainage/canal and river restoration projects. We also operate two productive quarries and offer aggregate to local landscapers, government contracts and construction companies. We take pride in doing a project right the first time, doing it on schedule, and under budget.

JOB PURPOSE:
Perform field repairs to various construction equipment consisting of heavy highway, pipeline, utility, and quarry application with the flexibility of shop assignments for major repairs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Responsible for minor and major repair of equipment fleet consisting of wheel loaders, dozers, scrapers, excavators, and trucks involving all repairs to drive train, hydraulics, electrical, air and AC systems.
2. Perform repair in a safe, productive, efficient and cost effective manner.
3. Possess own tools required to effectively perform equipment repairs.
4. Utilize service publications for researching problems, identifying and ordering parts.
5. Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
6. Perform general or routine welding repairs.
7. Successfully communicates verbally and in writing for necessary day-to-day operations and record keeping.
8. Demonstrated effective problem solving skills.
9. Demonstrates effective teamwork skills.
10. Capable of extended work hours and weekend work as well as working away from home for short periods of time.
11. Attend formal safety training and technical training seminars.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Minimum 2-5 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic.
3. Excellent knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and AC systems.
4. On-road truck repair experience helpful.
5. Air Conditioning Certification preferred.
6. Good driving record.
7. CDL Class A or B preferred.
