La Tour Restaurant in Vail, Colorado is seeking the right candidate to oversee and coordinate the planning, organization, and coordination of all marketing, group sales and social media.

Title: Marketing, Group Sales, Social Media Director

Reports to: Owners, General Manager, Executive Chef

Summary of Position:

Oversee and coordinate the planning, organization, and coordination of all marketing, group sales and social media, necessary to achieve stated objectives in group sales, marketing plan, and all social media.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Increase business by creating relationships with group sales coordinators in Vail Valley and around Colorado, business owners, managers, concierges, front desk personnel, and all front line employees who direct people where to eat in Vail. Book as much group sales as possible.

 Work directly with external marketing company to increase sales, create ads for publications, newspapers, radio, and all social media avenues.

 Work with Owners, Managers, Chefs and employees to increase awareness with all social media avenues on a weekly basis.

 Create ad campaigns and follow through working directly with external marketing company and internal management staff.

 Manage Vail Daily ad design and management.

 Manage all social media ads, posts, photos, etc.

 Research groups coming to Vail Valley to create relationships and group sale business for La Tour Restaurant. Cold Call hotels, chambers, group sale coordinators if necessary to know who is coming to Vail.

 Create calendar of events and happenings in Vail to know all event coordinators, make them aware of La Tour and try to get them to bring groups to La Tour.

 Master Open table reservation system.

 Answer phones during day and coordinate open table reservation system. Set up open table floor plan and server sections.

 Know and understand Aloha POS system. Be able to help management input menu data, update Aloha and manage system.

 Understand Cheftec system to help input invoices, inventories.

 Know Word and Excel, to help with menu formatting, wine list formatting and wine, liquor, invoicing.

 Know office order list and help with ordering

 Completely understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs, create them when necessary.

 Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times, and they have an enjoyable experience at La Tour. Train Staff to do so as well.

 Try to get to know our customers by Name.

 Touch every table/guest in some form or fashion every time you work.

 Create a sense of community in La Tour with our staff and guests.

 Completely understand all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs, create them when necessary.

 Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant's recipes, portioning, cooking, costing and serving standards.

 Help in achieving budgets, sales goals, cost of sales, labor and operating cost.

 Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.

 Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

 Work with FOH and BOH managers to make sure all staff are aware of marketing campaigns.

 Work with Head Sommelier on knowledge beverage program to be able to sell wines, alcohol, beer, and liquors to groups.

 Work with Managers to help develop suggestive selling programs related to marketing campaigns.

 Work with Management team to make sure labor is scheduled as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.

 Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.

 Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.

 Develop, plan and help carry out restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns. Develop programs to attract new customers.

 Develop concierge, group sales, program with all hotels/business/lodges.

 Be the Ambassador for La Tour Restaurant; make sure you know all concierges group sales coordinators in town and Colorado. Develop a program to get to know business owners who would send us business. Minimum one hour a day should be spent on creating relationships with Concierges, Business Owners, Chambers, local organizations, and private clubs.

 Develop ways to increase business.

 Maintain frequency card program & email promotional program.

 Plan special events, holiday events, promotions and wine/beer/liquor events.

 Book and/or assist in booking events. Create Banquet Event Orders; make sure all management has received them.

 Follow up with billing and guest satisfaction.

 Give tours to prospective guests of facility, make sure facility is presentable. Meet/Greet each guest prior to event.

 Execute group functions, from beginning to end.

 Create a program to help bring in group business. Make a targeted number of sales calls per week to hotels, chambers, businesses to bring in Group Business. Make a targeted number of in-person presentations to hotels, group sales, chambers and businesses to make sure they know about La Tour.

 Represent restaurant at community and local events and work closely with visitors bureaus, business associations, local universities, primary/secondary schools, etc.

 Help manage website and social networking sites; make sure they are up to date and working properly.

 Participate in professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.

Qualifications:

 Be 21 years of age.

 Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant's trading area.

 Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Design, Hotel & Restaurant Management, preferred.

 Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions.

 Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system, computers systems, design software, Opentable, & Cheftec.

 Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

 Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

 Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
