Job Description

Position Summary:

You will oversee all aspects of the Mini-Blessings programs including design and implementation of programs that support the organization’s mission, vision and goals. Mini-blessings provides equine assisted learning and activities for children and adults that can benefit from the healing power of our miniature horses. This position includes supervision of volunteers, managing funding sources for programs, maintaining records and reports as required, and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteers.

Job responsibilities:

-Develop, implement, review, and oversee Mini-Blessings programs, including program curriculum and goals

-Evaluate and revise program components with the aim of carrying out the organization’s long-term goals

-Develop measurement criteria and track impact of programs.

-Supervise, recruit, and retain volunteers to assist with programs.

-Manage overall program budget including time/labor approvals and grant funding records.

-Review existing written and website resources, promotional, and resource materials. Develop new materials as needed.

-Build, maintain organization, and represent Mini-Blessings through various activities including participation in outreach opportunities, coalitions, agencies, community advocacy organizations, professional partners, and the general public.

Required experience and skills:

-Experience with horses highly preferable, especially equine therapy programs

-Experience with persons with disabilities preferred

-Experience with curriculum development

-Candidates should be self-motivated and have excellent people skills

Who we are:

Mini Blessings is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing equine assisted activities and learning, including for special needs individuals and at-risk youth. We are located just outside Buena Vista on highway 306 and serve the residents of Chaffee County and central Colorado.

Our program offerings have included:

Strides for Success- an equine assisted learning program for 4th and 5th grade students in BV school district

Preschool program for students at Grove Preschool

Cart driving after school and summer programs

After school enrichment and summer programs for participants in Buena Vista Boys and Girls Club, Full Circle in Leadville, Adventures Unlimited, 4-H and others

Sensory garden experience for preschool through all ages

Equine assisted occupational and vision impaired therapy in coordination with local therapists and their clients

Job Type: Part-time independent contractor, 10 to 20 hours per week

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience

COVID-19 Vaccine or Exemption Request required.
