Job Description

What this Job Entails:

The Benefits Analyst III provides consulting and analytical expertise to support the development, design, implementation, and administration of benefit programs, practices, and policies to meet the changing needs of the organization. You will monitor benefit trends and stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation. You will also analyze, evaluate, and develop best practice recommendations to maintain a competitive Health and Welfare program, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies, and support the delivery and communication of benefit programs. Responsibilities include explaining benefits and assisting in the business development and planning processes with service providers. Compiles, analyzes and reports data including employee, plan financials for strategic benefits planning and evaluation. Provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees. The position will inform and educate employees and management.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Administers a diverse, international benefits program
  • Monitors eligibility, limitations, and restrictions of plan participations and ensures compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Provides guidance and counsel to employees and managers on the requirements and provisions of benefit programs, and assists with the resolution of potential problems.
  • Coordinates the design and communication of annual benefit enrollment materials.
  • Participates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate management and employees about changes to benefit plans, administrative practices and legislated requirements and programs.
  • Assists with bid specifications, analyzes proposals and renewal information, and interprets insurance carrier contracts.
  • Participates in the development of business processes.
  • Manages data necessary to complete government compliance activities (5500s, audits, etc.), employee mailings, vendor billings, coordinating data collection and updating numerous reports for management.
  • Assures processes and procedures are in place to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit related data.
  • Oversees employee data auditing and reporting.
  • Monitor plan limits, eligibility and other restrictions on plan participation to ensure compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Administers COBRA compliance.
  • Researches current benefit trends and regulatory/legislated requirements and recommends programs/changes
  • Compiles, analyzes and reports benefit data including employee, benefit plan and financial for Benefit's strategic planning and evaluation, best practices and benchmark surveys.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Knowledge of international benefits design and requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in implementing a health and wellness culture, at a minimum interest in creating one

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
