Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately obtain and document vital signs, weight, height, intake and output
• Perform routine rounds on residents.
• Supervise, assist or perform Activities of Daily Living to include:

  • Bathing, showering, bed bath
  • Shampoo, grooming, shaving, nail care and oral care
  • Dressing/Undressing
  • Toileting, incontinent and peri care
  • Meals/snacks, hydration, proper use of feeding devices/technique

• Utilize proper techniques and devices to transfer and position residents.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and respond appropriately to resident behaviors
• Recognize abnormal changes in body function and report to supervisor
• Provide assistance with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Maintain and support residents right to personal choice.
• Provide other nursing tasks including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning of equipment
  • Restocking resident supplies
  • Maintaining a safe and clean environment
  • Attending staff meetings

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program
• Valid CNA license
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong bedside manner
• Able to pass drug screen and criminal background check
