Maxar is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Space Program Delivery team in Westminster, CO or Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will lead an amazing dynamics and control analysis team to put satellites in orbit around the earth and moon.

Your Projects: We are working on several exciting projects, but as one example, you may lead a team to partner with our customers like NASA to develop the Power Propulsion Element (PPE) for the Moon Gateway (Artemis) to send the first woman and the next man back to the moon. You will be responsible for new avionics software integrations, establish software platforms, conduct dynamics analyses, develop ground control software, develop spacecraft simulators, and/or drive validation & verification for all satellite software projects.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

  • Lead a team of 10-20 Dynamics and Control Engineers to support numerous satellite programs within Maxar. Lead the engineers using Scaled Agile Framework to meet the requirements of the projects assigned.
  • Assist other peer organizations in solving for the whole: drive greater ownership & solutioning to ensure all programs are successful.


Minimum requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years as a project lead or manager
  • Previous experience in software development, management systems, software finance accountability, and as a software project lead


Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance
  • Master's degree or PhD in aerospace engineering (preference of astronautical over aeronautical), physics, mathematics or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of dynamics and control analysis and design, development of attitude feedback control modes, GNC functions/algorithms
  • Recent relevant experience operating in SAFe, Scaled Agile Framework
  • Experience wi satellite software development from inception to launch
  • Experience with large-scale satellite software development projects
  • Experience with CMMI-3


For the Colorado area - the compensation range for this position is $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 USD annually, dependent on skills and experience.

For the California area - the compensation range for this position is $117,000.00 - $195,500.00 USD annually, dependent on skills and experience.

This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
